Our Story
Ezov (EH-zov) is named after the Hebrew word for hyssop, the wild herb at the heart of za'atar, the spice blend that shows up on nearly every table across the Eastern Mediterranean. It's a small word that carries a lot of history, and that's intentional. Everything at Ezov starts with something real.
The food here draws from the markets, street stalls, and shared tables of the Eastern Mediterranean. It’s the kind of cooking that's been perfected over centuries and doesn't need to prove anything. We bring those flavors to Austin using the best Texas has to offer: local farms, seasonal produce, and ingredients that are worth sourcing carefully.
The menu is designed to share. Not in a precious, one-bite-each kind of way, but in a pull-up-a-chair, order-more-than-you-planned, someone's-going-to-steal-the-last-scoop-of-hummus kind of way. Flavors are bold. The vibe is loud in the best sense — color, laughter, good wine, better cocktails.
Speaking of wine… our list goes deep into the Eastern Mediterranean, with bottles from Lebanon, Greece, Israel, and beyond that you won't find on most Austin wine lists. And the cocktail program takes its cues from the energy of Mediterranean nightlife. They are fresh, bold, and built to keep the evening moving.
We're Michelin recommended for 2025, which we're proud of. But what we're prouder of is that it doesn't change how we operate. The food is still high quality and carefully sourced. The service is still warm and approachable. And the check still won't make you wince.
